This webpage is about the book The Hobbit written by J.R.R. Tolkien. The story begins In a totally different world, at the home of Bilbo Baggins. Gandalf the wizard and the many dwarves go to his house and convince him to come on the journey to the treasure of Smaug the Magnificent, a large and very dangerous dragon. The story begins in the Hobbit's home ( A hollowed out hill ) and they later go through many country sides to the Desolation of Smaug a wet and cold cave. There are many characters in this novel but the main character is Bilbo Baggins he is the hobbit. A hobbit is a very short man, with messy hair and torn dirty clothes. Hobbits never wear shoes because their feet are so leathery that nothing hurts them. Bilbo Baggins lives in a hill that is shaped in the inside to look like a house. Another main character is Gandalf who is a wizard that has a magical cane. In this book Gandalf helps the hobbit and the dwarves search for the dragon. For this book we made up a rating system. The two thumbs method. For this book we gave it a two thumbs down because the book was boring.
